Winding/Laying
Motion controllers are used to correctly wind or unwind cables, wires or other materials on reels.
The task of the controller is to keep the web tension constant and to adjust the winder or feeder roll to the speed of the material.
In the case of winding tasks, the controller also regulates the traverse carriage depending on the web speed and the current winding layer. Thus, the device moves transversal to the roll and places each layer of cable evenly over the previous.

WR701-Firmware: Winding and Tension Applications

The firmware WR701 is suitable to realize a wide range of combinations of drives with rewinder, uncoiler, line drive, web tension control and transverse routing. The winding diameters at rewinders and unwinders are continuously determined and the rotational speeds are controlled so that the web speed remains constant. Suitable for “stand-alone” applications as well as for connection to PLC or PC or fieldbus systems.
Suitable for simple control of up to 4 drives with 16-speed winding applications. The controller includes a controllable web tension control via dancers or measuring bearings, a virtual guide axis for precise control of the system speed, as well as a built-in transverse installation for winding cables, ribbons, etc.
